It has been an honor to serve as President of Kalamazoo Log Cabin Quilters from June of 2024 to May of 2026. What a group of talented quilters we have! I was blessed to work with a great Board to make sure the organization ran smoothly. My special thanks go out to Pam Knight, who is stepping down as Secretary, to Sue Conat, who is stepping down as Membership Chair, and to Karen Heerdt, who is stepping down as Fellowship Chair.
I have no doubts that our new Board will do a fantastic job. As your Old President, I say goodbye, or perhaps better phrased as I will see you soon, just sitting in the audience!
Jean Smith, KLCQ President 2024-2026

Summer is Here!
The long-awaited summer is finally here. The temperatures are not yet hot enough to spend a day on the beach, but the sun rises a little earlier each morning and sets a little later each evening. I am busy in the yard getting my flower beds cleaned up. I can’t wait to see the beautiful colors summer brings.
Speaking of color, Teresa Ballard brought a variety of color to our May meeting. She walked us through her quilting journey leading to those amazing Sarah Fielke block of the month quilts.
I’m looking forward to my time as your president. We have a wonderful guild with so many talents and ideas. I am inspired each month after seeing your creations at the Show & Tell. I can’t wait to see all the quilts you are creating for our donations this month. You are truly a creative group.
Cheri Butler, KLCQ President 2027-2028
